First Field Trip!

California, 2020

Hello students! Today I posted a video above of a time I went to California. It is a sped-up video, but that is what makes this fun. I call this small assignment a “virtual field trip”. Due to Covid-19, it is hard to plan for an actual field trip, so I figured I could bring it to you! All I want from this video is for you guys to try to stop at any point in the video and write some things down that you notice about the environment and describe what you see. You can talk about the trees, about the weather, about the different types of terrain, etc. Parents, feel free to watch along with your children and help them describe further in detail about what they see. This activity is just for fun! It is easy points and gives the students a rest from their other assignments. This will be due Friday, September 3rd. Just have them write in down on paper and bring it to class that day. Enjoy the rest of your day! –Ms. Turbyfill.

First Day of First Grade

Getting to know my students is the most important thing to do as a teacher. That is why I would like to introduce myself, I am Ms. Turbyfill, and I will be your students’ first grade teacher! Tomorrow will be the first day of school, and I hope to see a bunch of bright smiles and determination! This first week I plan on getting to know each student, as well as introduce them to the classroom and where they can find things if they ever need it. Perhaps, even a school tour to let them get familiar to their surroundings. I am excited to see everyone tomorrow! Have a great rest of your day!
